European survey of the RESPECT project on surveillance and privacy technologies

Respect_LogoAn online survey on the use of surveillance and privacy technologies in the EU has been launched as part of the RESPECT – “Rules, Expectations and Security through Privacy-Enhanced Convenient Technologies“ – project. This survey, launched by the University of Malta as a partner of the project, was intended for all EU citizens who wanted to express their point of view on the matter. In Italy, the survey has been led by Sito Web del Laboratorio di Scienze della Cittadinanza Laboratorio di Scienze della Cittadinanza (Laboratory of Citizenship Sciences), in collaboration with other italian partners of the project (CNR and ITTIG in Florence).

This is an extremely important topic and this initiative has been an opportunity for Italian citizens to express their views, expectations, and concerns on such crucial matters. The results of the survey will help national and European policy makers to compile recommendations on the use of these security technologies.

The survey – closed on 28 February, 2014 –  was prepared by the University of Malta and was for italian citizens over 18 years of age

Further information on the RESPECT project is available in the Questionario Official website of the project.
